When is the application deadline?

Applications open on January 12, 2024 and close at 11:59 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024.

 

required part of our application is the Student's Personal Statement.

When will you let me know if I have been accepted?

Our goal is to let you know within two weeks following the application deadline whether you have been accepted into StuyPrep or not. We will communicate results by e-mail.

After acceptance, you will be asked to confirm that you plan to attend the program.

Please look for our e-mail starting in mid-March!

My child does not attend a public school. Can my child still apply for the program?

Yes! StuyPrep assists middle school students from underrepresented communities in NYC earn admission to Stuyvesant and other NYC specialized high schools, regardless of the school they are currently in.

My child is not in seventh grade. Can my child still apply for the program?

Unfortunately, no. Our program is currently designed for seventh graders and rising eighth graders. We are exploring how to expand the program to earlier grades, but that option is not yet available.

Is breakfast or lunch provided?

StuyPrep will not provide breakfast nor lunch during the program. However, snacks and study breaks may be given from time to time, which is why we ask about your child's dietary needs in the application.

What are the expectations for accepted students?

Students in StuyPrep are expected to attend StuyPrep each week of the program. They are expected to show respect to their fellow students and to all instructors and administrators of the program.

Students should come to StuyPrep with their study materials each week, having completed all assignments, and having devoted time to private study.

Failure to adhere to these standards may be grounds for removal from the program.
